Okay but now seriously it's more like final presentations hahah. This week is crazy hectic for me, as a communication arts student everyone knows that it really doesn't matter if you get straight A's all semester what counts is this final week. Final week of presentations includes, final demos, videos, papers, everything you've done all semester comes down to this week. Oh and that doesn't include theory exams or written exams that will happen next week. I'm beat, burntout, I admit it I'm crashing. Dance isn't helping ... it's so hard I always feel like in the end I have to pick one of the two school or dance and of course school always wins. It's not cause I want to dance wins in my heart but I'm here and my education costs me money.
Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving with friends and family. I did, in my house thanksgiving starts bright and early everything from making the honey baked pineapple ham to the show stopper the turkey. You see thanksgiving is great and all but I'm always on a mission come 12:00am I go Black Friday shopping and I actually take this Friday very serious. Having little kids in the house makes it very hard to not try to go out and find the black friday specials especially the ones in toys stores.

Today is Tuesday and that sends shivers down my spine. See on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have a date with the back table and the chiropractor. Having two herniated lumbar discs can get pretty annoying while ballet and dance training but I think I can deal with annoying, pain on the other hand I cannot.
This is what a Herniated disc looks like.
I mean I could I guess in gymnastics and ballet I've always been thought that pain is all mental and that it can be overcome but honestly there are days that I'll lay in Dr. Nesis examination table and have the desire to say thats it I quit, I'm done. An ibuprofen 800 and ice is what gets me through treatment i've become completely numbed by ice and no longer feel much on my back till he does the "killers" "finishers" like I like to call them ... Pressure Points.
Let me show you why back injuries would be a problem with ballet training...
The last time I blogged I was in full training mode and its been like that for the most part ... see its hard when you have school in the way, something always comes up. Since wednesday all I can say is Soreness how I hate thee. I've had everything from back spasms to baseball ankles to broken/bleeding toe nails. I really intended to post yesterday but I decided to wait for today, the women's basketball team had their first home game and of course I was there for my usual photo athlete craze. I sat, got up, walked around, and stayed in complete ah at times while photographing the game. From the moment the game started till it ended I snapped pictures. No seriously, when I finally put my camera down the game had 1:48 seconds left and we were losing. Unfortunately they lost with a final score of 83-90. Here are some shots....
Posing for a quick picture after the game with some of the soccer boys.
So after two weeks of eating, sleeping, and NOT dancing I woke up dreading today and tomorrow. See I had training today, although I had sat out for two weeks and felt great I knew that the moment that I had to roll on to my pointe shoes that I would instantly flinch of pain and each and every releve. So while my visit to the Trainers room I decided to just take pictures with my blackberry to pass time.
Ready....
Here we go.
I love love love banana baby food.
Gatorade gets me through the day ... Seriously.
Meet my two friends Stem and Heat (:
^ this is where I should have been but ... I had class @ 6:00pm
is a Camera ofcourse, even if you buy a disposable one I promise you it'll still be cheaper! Well today was just like any other tuesday ... NOT. After Saturdays training my ankle got to the size of a baseball and the weird thing was that it didn't really scare me or send me into a very usual Ana panic attack melt down. I knew exactly what to do ice it, rest it , mess it up again. Its the usual same never ending cycle of having an ankle injury its not like you can go to a doctor and ask for an ankle transplant ... I wish. So after going to class today I ran into Maria who is either laughing already or trying to make you laugh, she asked what were my plans for the rest of the day and the usual would be I have practice but not today. I'm resting. sigh. So I told her that I didn't have anything to do and we bursted out with lets have a photoshoot. We did. So I picked up my camera and dropped my frustration and troubles and just snaped a couple of pictures of my crazy, funny, friend, Maria.
"not so glamorous photoshoot"
Those were just some of them theres a slideshow of all of them on my page of photo galleries.
It's Friday that means I instantly wake up in an amazing mood because there is NO CLASS on FRIDAYS!!! YES! YES! YES! Well I mean that does mean that if I'm not in school in class I'm training in anyway possible. Not the case this Friday. It's a big deal to me I need to rehab these injuries and get back to ballet ASAP. Whatever, to make up for it today was the mens basketball game vs. Barry University so I decided to stay on campus instead of going home for the weekend like I usually do and see if I could get any good Snapshots. Tomorrow I'm sure I'll make up for bumming out this Friday. I know you guys expect for me to say that my favorite picture I took of the game was of that unexpected lay up but nope it was this one ...
Yes I know, WHY?!? Okay so if there is one thing that I've gotten out of this whole being injured all the time is a first class ticket to the STU Athletic Training room. I walk in there religiously for my usual 30 minute Stem Machine hook ups and my favorite torture from Dr.Niles the chiropractor, okay I'm exaggerating but these back injuries are no joke. Well Meredith and George work as the athletic trainers and they take care of us cry babies in times of need, this year George was added on to the team and with him he brought his honey. You read it right honey, it became apparent to me that he was serious about this whole honey thing after he told the Women's Soccer coach that it helped with physical fatigue who after headed to publix and bought one for her team. Now not only do we have our athletic trainer on our sidelines but we also have Honey to save the day. :)
So I really don't know this whole deal on Honey but heres something I found on the web : Science Blog - honey
Ofcourse I took more pictures of all the fun I had at the game you can find them here.
